Top Features To Consider When Choosing A Great Mountain Bike

While these bikes are some of the best for black Friday and we generally expect them to be on sale, you still need to consider some of the top features. These features took me some time to study and understand and we believe that once you have an idea of how they work, you can find the best mountain bike any time of the year.

The frame is one of the most important parts of the bike you should consider. With aluminum being the most dominant option due to the price, it is not the best. Carbon Fiber bikes are some of the best when it comes to a mountain bike. However, the lighter weight and the added durability will be a little expensive to buy.

However, Black Friday is just around the corner and this means they can be much more affordable if you are looking for one. Should you need a cheaper bike, you can settle for the steel frames. These might be a little heavier, but for beginners, the bikes are perfect. I personally like hydroformed aluminum as well for the value and quality it offers.

When it comes to the size, your bike is generally measured with the size of the wheels. When looking at a great BMX bike, you might settle for the 20-inch wheels. However, the larger rider who enjoys road bikes and mountain biking should settle for a 26-inch bike. This will lift them off the ground and help to endure most of the shock.

The larger riders might love the 29-inch bike. It is much larger and can handle riders up to 300-pounds. However, it might put a lot of strain on the bike and this means you can’t perform tricks or jumps. I personally also think the 29-inch bikes are great for taking on strenuous terrains and should enable you to jump over stubborn obstacles.

When looking for a mountain bike, you need to choose between the full-suspension bike and the hardtail mountain bike. While the full suspension option is a little more expensive, it still offers some excellent value for beginners. Here is a small breakdown of the two types, giving you the knowledge to choose the right bike for your needs.

  • Hardtail: The hardtail bike is slightly more affordable as we already mentioned. However, it offers the user a lot of stability. Having this stability will ensure the rider can climb much more efficiently. No longer do you need to climb whilst suffering. One of the best hardtail MTBs are from Huffy, and we are pleased to include it in our Black Friday deals list.
  • Full-Suspension: As a full-suspension bike, you will need to be a professional rider to fully understand it. These bikes are the preferred options for downward descending. The suspension is looser, allowing you to navigate tough terrains. However, it might not be in everyone’s budget too often, except for Black Friday perhaps.

The drivetrain is definitely one of the biggest difference makers. Shimano is one of the leading designers when you look at the control of the bike. Beginners might not need many gears to help them up the toughest climbs. However, a professional rider will certainly use this to their advantage when trying to achieve faster speeds.

You should also consider looking at bikes that enable you to upgrade them. Most of the drivetrains of the cheaper models are constructed by Shimano, leaving plenty of room for your upgrades. On the other hand, the SRAM drivetrains are a little more complex and they are not that easy to replace. I have also found them to be a little more expensive.

Black Friday is one of the best opportunities we have when it comes to saving money. Yes, these bikes are a little expensive when bought separately, but we do believe you can now save a couple of bucks for those upgrades. If you have a talent or a dream and aspiration, now it can be one of the best times to start saving money for Black Friday.

The bikes we selected are all subject to change when the official deals have been released. However, previous years have taught us that many of the same bikes are generally special. Testing these bikes are no joke, but I had the time of my life.

We would like to thank you for reading this article.  Please feel free to share some of your thoughts on these bikes. Let us know what your favorite Black Friday Mountain Bike special was and which of the bikes you wish to find. We look forward to reading some of your comments and the suggestions you propose.
